My name is Karen Ulanski-Swank, and I am the President of Second Chances Begin Here Inc. If you have the passion to start over, set goals, and reach for the stars, you have come to the right place. I have 30+ years in education, and I understand how things happen. Sometimes, an individual needs to step back, take a breath, and begin again.

Our Story

Second Chances Begin Here Inc. serves individuals wanting to complete their high school education by finishing and passing the GED® Test and earning a Kansas State High School Diploma. Karen Ulanski-Swank has been the Paola Adult Education Center director for 28 years and has a wealth of information on this process. Integrated Educational Training (IET) is another area that Ulanski-Swank offers. IETs encompass completing the GED® Test, enrolling in a certification or pathway at a local community college, earning the certification or degree, and finding employment linked to the particular training/certification/degree.
